The Broadway Bach Ensemble

Established in 1985, The Broadway Bach Ensemble is a New York City-based 45-piece community chamber orchestra made up of dedicated musicians from many professions who, quite simply, like to make and perform great music together. Our members take their playing seriously. Quite a few have played professionally, and most actively study and are coached in chamber music.

We perform three full orchestra concerts a year in New York City – a fall concert in October, a winter concert in February, and a spring concert in May. We also program a chamber music concert in March.

Our programs are varied and diverse, spanning the 17th through 21st centuries. For samples of past concert programs, see our past programs page.

We have a twelve-person Board of Directors that manages the orchestra. Besides deciding on concert dates, programs and policy – and working on concert production – each of our board members also has specific functions and responsibilities. They are:

Frances Boyd
Carl Courant, finance
Liz Dejean
Nancy Dunetz, strings coordinator
Audrey Edelstein, associate music director
Jonathan Gordon, programs
Jeff Hertzberg
Tom McGee, wind coordinator, web site, mailing list
Paris Milane
Renee Oakford, wind coordinator
David Rosen
Mike Tietz, music director

Our Officers are:

Tom McGee, President
Michael F. Tietz, Vice President and Assistant Secretary
Nancy Dunetz, Secretary
Carl Courant, Treasurer
Jeff Hertzberg, Assistant Treasurer and Assistant Secretary
